The Lismore Diocesan Conference, hosted by South Grafton branch was a weekend enjoyed by members coming together in faith and friendship.
State President Catherine McGrath and State Treasurer Rosemary Francis were warmly welcomed by Diocesan President Ann Pereira. The theme of the Conference was “Holy Spirit Guide Us”.
Treasurer Gillian presented a delighted State President Catherine with a cheque on behalf of CWLA Lismore Diocese to be used for the Catholic Women’s Leadership Development Project.
President Ann had a wonderful surprise for members when she announced at the Conference Dinner that long time and active Bellingen Branch member Nell Lee had been granted Life Membership of CWLA. After the announcement there was instant applause and joy for this truly dedicated, delightful and humble lady. Nell, who had previously received a CWLA Certificate of Appreciation had also received a Bellingen Citizen of the Year Award and a Premiers Award, said that of all those previous awards receiving Life Membership of CWLA was the most wonderful.
